Problem getting earlier West Coast programs - Any Southern CA out there?

Hi, 

I recently began renting a room from a family that has Verizon Fios but does not subscribe to HD.  I am new to Fios and have a question about west coast schedules.  I am used to being able to watch many programs at the earlier west coast time on channels like USA, Lifetime, TNT, etc.  When searching the guide, the earlier times only show on HD channels.  I have more than one listing for each non HD channel but the programs start at the same time for all the listings.  I can’t find any non HD channels that show the earlier times.  This doesn’t sound right.  What am I missing?  Anybody live in Southern California that has an answer to this problem?  I would really appreciate your help.
