Record all Games from One Team

I have the MLB Extra Innings package.  Is there any way to set the DVR to record all the games for one team?  When I've tried to set a series it only does so for a particular MLB channel and not a particular team.  Any way to do this?  Thanks for any help.

It probably depends on the way the show's title is listed.  I don't believe the DVR is smart enough to only record a certain team, unless that particular team's game "title" on the guide is always the same for each game.  It would be cool if you could record all shows with a tag of "Mets" as an example.  But this DVR doesn't do that AFAIK.

TiVo has the ability to do what you want.  It would be tremendous if the FiOS DVR could incorporate this feature.  As of now, you are stuck recording games you may not want or you will have to periodically schedule the ones you want yourself.

One related tip: Beware the over time got-cha! All these automated recording systems use the PUBLISHED TV Guide start and end times to regulate the time the device begins and stops recording.

If a game goes to 4 extra innings for example you will not record them all if you have just chosen the automated method of programming.

While most games do end on time, some do not. I (sorry) recommend all KEY sporting events be programmed manually adding extra time at the end JUST IN CASE.

So really, I’m recommending you not even care if you can record all one team at the push of the button because if the play-off OT period thrilling ending was lost what good would the convenience have been?

...and you can pad the end up to two hours.  Certainly isn't a full proof method but I am all for automation with some supervision instead of some automation and all supervision.

The ability to record all games of your favorite team with a single recording is completely independent of the ability to pad the ending .  When you create a single recording for your favorite sports team on other DVRs, you are also given the option to pad every game by a set amount of time, regardless of date, time, and channel.

The ability to create a single recording for all of your team's games, with set amount of padding that applies to every game...is an essential feature for sports fans.   It eliminates the need to create each recording manually and it eliminates the need to pad each event individually; you set it once and this is done automatically for all your team's games, regardless of date, time, and channel.  This is the sort of functionality people would like to see on the FiOS DVR.

You can see how this works with a TivoHD on FiOS in this Youtube HD video.   Team sports recordings and options are shown about 2:20 in. You can see how these games show up in the recorded list at the very start of the video.

This is a bummer, especially since programming MLB games ahead is such a pain in FIOS DVR.  The way searching returns results, you have to scan through dozens of games to find the one you want to record on each channel.  Very annoying.

The de facto standard on which all DVR's are measured. (IMHO) Smiley Wink
