Recording a program when football is still on

We have been missing recordings on our DVR because of football running an hour over and not getting the full recording. How do we override football overruns timewise??

Your best bet is to extend that recording by an hour on NFL Sundays. I assume it's a CBS show, since FOX builds in a buffer following their game with "The OT" - which normally runs between 7:30-8:00 on days they have a late national game so that their Prime Time schedule doesn't get altered.
