OK so the past 3 days at 12:15am my remote basically just stops working just for the box can still control the TV fine, I have to put the remote right up the the clock of the box for it to work

Remote works fine up until that time so I have noticed
Have tried other remotes I have from other boxes same issues

Hey I was having the same problem with the same STB. After reading through the message boards i found something that worked. On the tv itself the settings for color and brightness have presets (ie: movie mode, sports, etc.) I had mine set on auto to adjust itself when needed. I went in the menu and switched it to standard and the problem is fixed. I hope this helps.
if it's a 7100 or 7216 cable box, they have a known issue with some tv's and the picture quality bleeding out the IR signal. so do what the above poster suggested, but you can also call vz at 8885531555 and they send out the IR extender's to correct the issue. shouldn't cost anyting
