Remove ads from new guide

I turned the stb on today 11/21 and saw that the full screen guide is now different. The preview screen is smaller, there is bar at the top that says Verizon Fio and TV Guide and a bar at the bottom with darn annoying ads. Does anyone know how to get rid of the ads? I've tried all the options in the menu settings and can't get rid of them. I'm sorry but when I press guide I want to see what's on TV not ads.

I just called verizon support about this and was told that the wait time was over 10 minutes.  forget it.  I pay enough for Fios service,  i don't want to see additional ads on the program guide. its bad enough that they are at the top of the screen too.

I don't think there is any way to remove the ad at the bottom, I have looked through every option and I cannot find a way. But really, at least to me, it is not that annoying, it isn't animated or anything. Right now I am seeing an ad for Disney family movies, no big deal, IMO.

I am not seeing any ad(s) at the top of the Guide, what ad(s) are you seeing at the top? There is a new ad at the bottom, I guess I would prefer it not be there, but to me no big thing.

Updates are supposed to make our service better.  This new update sucks.  Everything is smaller.  Verizon needs to fire the person that gave the greenlight to release this new guide.

Have those seeing the advertisements at the bottom of the guide also turned off promotions under the notification settings?  I'm not seeing any and do have the option turned off.

Yes, I have it set to Disable, have had it set that way for a long time and just verified that it is still set to Disable.

...and, per your prior post, you are not seeing the ads either.  So we need to hear from someone who is seeing the ads at the bottom of the guide.

As I clearly said, I DO see an ad (one, that changes periodically) at the bottom.

Is everyone who is seeing the ads on 1.9.4? I'm not seeing any ads on my guide. Nothing at the bottom and the only thing on top is the tv guide logo in the top right corner.
