Sound stuttering, have to switch channels and come back

Anybody else experiencing this? The sound will start to stutter in the middle of a show (usually at the start of a commercial actually), and I'll have to flip off the channel and back to get it to sound normal again. I have my FiOS set top box connected via HDMI to my TV and then SPDIF to my sound bar, so perhaps it's something screwy with the digital passthrough? I don't get this problem with the Wii or Xbox 360.

I am sorry you are having these audio problems. If you havent already rebooted the box itself, please unplug its power cord for 30 seconds and put it back in. If you continue to have these problems after having the box rebooted, then please send me a private message.

This happens all the time. Resetting, rebooting, cnaging the box does nothing to change it.

Just curious, but do you experience the stuttering when using the TV sound as supplied by HDMI, or is it just when using the soundbar? That point is not clear in the OP. If the TV sound is OK, then it would have to be a sound bar issue. Are there other cable options for the soundbar, such as digital or optical? You might try that. Just wondering.

I have exactly the same problem. I have had Verizon technicians visit. Apparently it is a known software problem at Verizon. There is no immediate fix. The sounds stutters and then goes out. You can rewind the DVR and when it plays back, the sound comes back - weird and very annoying.
