I live in Northern New Jersey, i.e. New York Metro. Verizon FIOS offers WLIW on channels 21 and 470. However both are the same standard def signal. WLIW puts out a HD signal. Why does Verizon FIOS not offer the HD version of WLIW which I watch a lot.

Probably because, as a local PBS station, there is a lot of duplicate programming. For example, the PBS Newshour is on at 6 PM via WLIW. However, the same show is broadcast at 7 PM on WNET-HD! While there is different programming on WLIW as well, they most often are not shown in HD. Remember, not all HD channels actually show HD programming. Most notorious example is Turner Classic Movies HD...which does NOT show their movies in HD at all! That is why I'm not upset that TCM-HD is not carried by FiOS as of yet.
@OMC2010 wrote:How about if Verizon starts adding HD stations to its Spanish language lineup. Currently, UNIVISION, TELEMUNDO and TELEFUTURA transmit their programming in High Definition, but Verizon carry them only in Standard Definition.
I watched Univision HD on my antenna with the feed from a tower in Washington DC. The game Sunday was great, but yes it is a local feed so included in SD without the spanish package. Why not the local HD feed?
Hi,
Pleae add more Family friendly channels. One of the ones we would like to see is the "Inspiration for Kids" VOD to come back. Also add NASA HD, BBC HD, Sky News HD, Sky Angel 1 thru 4.
Thank-you.
Fox Soccer Channel HD, please!!
I would also love Fox Soccer Channel HD (FSC HD)!
I strongly recommend adding CBS College Sports HD. With a large flat screen TV, only having access to a regular definition CBS CS is very dissapointing.
Thanks.
I would like to see the Hallmark Movie Channel and the Hallmark Movie Channel HD added to the Extreme Package (currently it's only available in the Prime and Ultimate Packages). I had the Hallmark Movie Channel previously as Cablevision includes it in their IO Package.
We are now one month away from the start of the English Premier League. Hopefully you all can finally make available FSC-HD in time for this upcoming season.

I would have too, but I upgraded to get the higher Internet speeds. Never made since that a tier above would not have the programming of the one below. Yes it P O ed many including me. But I just bit the bullet.
