My HDDVR manual says that I can watch simultaneous channels by using the swap key on my remote. But I have the basic remote and cannot set this up. Any help? Thanks

Then I can connect my TV to different inputs on the cable box and achieve the same thing with PIP on my TV?
When they say watch two channels simultaneously, they are referring to the fact that two channels are buffered simultaneously by different tuners in the DVR. Only one channel is output at a given time. In theory, you could pause one channel, switch to another and pause that, then switch back and forth, resuming and fast forwarding to skip any commercials. Some people use this 'feature' on Sunday to watch one football game until tthey hit a commercial, pause that game when they see a commercial, then switch to another football game until they hit a commercials and then pause that; they then switch back to the previous game and fast forward past commercials.
I say in theory because some versions of the IMG won't remember the fact that you paused, although even on those you can always rewind to see what play you missed.
