On our TV setup screen, "closed caption" is checked "Off" but words are still rolling across the top of the TV screen. We were watching today's second football game when the words came on and they've been on and off ever since. Is there something wrong with our Verizon remote? My husband checked the batteries in the remote and they're good. We do not want the "closed caption" on.
Maybe it's set to "OFF" in FIOS, but "ON" in the TV setup. Check your TV remote.
it sounds like it also might be coming from the verizon menu. so press menu, go down to settings and then accessibility and you will find the closed captioning.

Had the same issue a while ago and this fixed it for me!
