Okay, so I'm confused on how to hook up my Toshiba dvd player to my tv, while also using a FIOS HD DVR. The FIOS HD DVR (a Motorola 7216, or similar model) is currently hooked up to an Olevia 32" HD LCD TV, with one HDMI port only. The dvd player is hdmi capable, as well as component, and s-video. I already had a spare s-video cable and one audio cable (red white yellow).
What's the best way to hook up this dvd player?
Your best bet is to use the component for your dvd player do not be fooled by this hdmi hype on sets that don't get to 1080p. I have an olevia the real advantage to hdmi is one cable rather than audio and video connections.I have been round and round with this issue and have discovered that even so called experts don't agree or at times can't tell whether a picture is component or hdmi.Hope this helped.
