Thanks so much for your continued efforts on this issue. I know how important it is to be able to get content off of your devices. We want this to work for you. To make sure we're not overlooking anything...you do have a memory card in the tablet, correct? If not, you can't use the aforementioned process. If you do, and it still won't read, we'll probably want to recommend placing your memory card into a card reader and insert that directly into the computer. That should resolve the issue. If not, most likely the issue is an OS issue or a hardware issue with the computer and I would recommend trying on another computer. If that's not possible, you may wish to bring the device into a company owned store and we'll be happy to help move the content to another device.

Yes I have a confirmed working SD card. when i plug my Droid turbo into the same usb cord, i get the usb notification bar popup but not on the ellipsis. so the problem is specific to this device.
going to a Vz store is not a good solution (for me or the store employees) since transferring media on and off the device is something I do once per day.
today i noticed something new which may shed light on this problem. last night it charged all night but was only 50% charged this morning. further, when i plug in the usb cord the lightning bolt battery charging indicator at top right of the device often does not show. when i Unplug and reseat the usb cable, sometimes the charging indicator will show and sometimes it won't, and if it shows at first the charging indicator will later repeatedly disappear without my knowledge. so my conclusion is that the usb receptacle on the ellipsis is defective. and it may be that I will no longer be able to use this device since it is having trouble receiving power.
Thanks for the additional information MP9. In order to evaluate the Usb recptacle, the recommendation is to take it to a corporate store. We will need them to take a look at the device to check for damage or defective issues that are causing the problem. If your device is still under warranty, we may need to send it out for repair.
