Discontinuing Message+

While switching to Google Message is probably okay for my android phone, the suggestion to switch to Apple Messaging for the iPad seems useless. For many iPad users who have the WiFi only version (no cellular service), it seems impossible to retrieve or post text messages - which worked perfectly on the same iPad with Message+ installed.  Anyone have a workable solution for this? I've explored other texting apps at the App Store - both free and paid -  but none seem to resolve this problem. I even upgraded to iPad OS 18, but still no luck.... Thanks and welcoming all suggestions.

Okay, so I finally came up with a solution for this. On the WiFi iPad, access the Web version of Google Message using a browser and then create a desktop link to that page on your iPad. 'Been testing this for several weeks now and it seems to work fine. A good workaround, I think.
