Maybe I'm just technologically challenged... but I've tried more than once to copy apps over to my SD card via my PC and I must not be doing it right. I have managed to free up ABSOLUTELY NO space. Maybe somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong? OR maybe Verizon can just fix the problem....

The OS version on the Ellipsis tablet isn't designed to allow applications to be installed on the SD card. You basically purchased a very poorly designed piece of technology.

Any update on this situation? I got the tablet for free, but my son can't hardly download any apps. I'm pretty tech savvy and beyond confused why no one would be allowed access to the SD cart.

The SD card is for media, pictures, music and video files. Not applications.

The immediate issue is the 1GB limited app space on an 8 GB device. They need to up it to 4GB. (rooting discussion removed). I'm not there yet though.

We fully understand your position gpan099! Unfortunately we would be unable to advise of exact update release timeframes. However, we fo recommend monitoring http://bit.ly/n5snpq for any applicable updates, thanks!

Don't take chances with this run don't walk to VZW and return it while you can. You can always do something later. Unless you have it in black and white with a signature it is just hear say. One other thing is that updates don't always fix a problem completely or they may create other issues which is just as bad or worse than the original issue. VZW need to replace all these tablets with 32 gb versions. Again run don't walk to VZW and return this tablet

May be the best advice for some, for others (like me) the restocking fee is more than I paid for the tablet so I'll just keep badgering VZW with calls and posts until they fix it!

Instead of whining about the lack of storage capacity, slow mediocre speeds, etc on the 8GB ellipsis, just do your self a favor, and get the 32GB Nexus 7 2013 4G/LTE unlocked, and put your Ellipsis mico Sim in it. Chalk it up to a lesson learned.
Done.
Happy times are here again....
Ps the nexus 7 2013 can also read/write to USB thumb drives via the nexus Media importer no root required ($4) nice....

Rive,
Thanks, but I'll post all I want until they throw me off.
We all know how you love your $350 Nexus 7.
