Why can't I use my Micro SD Card?

A purchased a 128gb Micro SD card for the Ellipsis 8 HD and it will not allow me to store my pictures on it.  Will you open the camera and go to settings the area where it talks about storage is greyed out.  Also I am finding that Google Play Newsstand will not run on this and the my Verizon app will not run on this tablet. Does anybody have any suggestions?
