I have purchased two phones for my account recently. The most recent was a Samsung S8+ yesterday. While looking at my lines this evening I noticed that Total Mobile Protection was added to the newest line and the Samsung J3 V purchased a couple of months ago. I specifically told the salesperson that I did not want the protection.
I've cancelled both TMPs. I'm guessing this is most likely crooked sales people trying to make a commission. Both phones were purchased in the Verizon store in Spartanburg, SC.
I hope this unethical practice will be corrected in the future.
