Charged for Retuned Phone

Returned my phone for an early upgrade (having tracking proof) now potentially being billed for phone Verizon says they haven’t received.  Two weeks ago, I spent 30 minutes at local Verizon store while they talked with customer service and they said they confirmed they got my phone and I was good.  I am so upset.  They are so messed up.  If someone from Verizon that could really help, how do I fix this?
