I contacted Verizon via chat because I got an email about upgrading my current phone under the early upgrade program and the email stated
Congratulations! Your current device is at least 50% paid off. You’re now eligible for our early upgrade program*, which lets you return your IPHONE 12 PRO MAX eSIM for a new iPhone. We’ll even pay off your phone’s remaining balance. It’s that easy. And for a limited time, get iPhone 14 (128 GB) on us. Or $800 off iPhone 14 or 14 Pro.
in which they told me that I would have to pay off my current phone and would not proceed until I agreed to pay off current phone. I sent them the email I got and stated that the email says that Verizon would and I quote “we’ll even pay off your phone’s remaining balance” . They told me sorry can’t help you the only way you can upgrade is to pay off your current phone . It went like this back and forth for about 20 minutes even copying the email and paste email for them to see and I kept getting the response sorry can’t do that pay off your phone so we can proceed in a nice way of course. Anyway don’t make promises you can’t keep that’s how you lose loyal customers
