Last November (1 year ago) I upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro and was offered a $800 trade in offer for my old iPhone.
I picked up the new phone in person and shipped my old phone to Verizon in the provided box.
It has been a year and I have not received any trade in credit or a confirmation of my phone reaching Verizon. I have talked to Verizon reps 6 times and have been given the run around every single time. First,I was told that there was a backup with processing trade ins and I would have to wait 6-8 weeks. Then I was told my phone was in the warehouse but has not been processed and to wait 6-8 weeks. The last time I spoke to someone they told me they had reapplied the trade in credit and it would be applied to my next bill. However, they refused to send me an email confirmation or to tell me any way I could contact the promotions department to ensure they did get my promotion. My bill just showed up, and again there is no credit applied. The status on my trade in has also disappeared from my account.
Every single time I have chatted with someone online at Verizon it has taken over an hour, sometimes two, and provides no clarity on the issue or why Verizon has such a difficult time with trade -ins. This entire process has made me believe that Verizon is purposely delaying the promotional credit hoping that I will forget.
I am literally at the wits end and incredibly frustrated with Verizon. The customer service has been horrible and the process is never transparent. I have been a loyal Verizon customer for 20 years but this process has convinced me to leave. If they don't provide me with the $800 credit then I will file a complaint with the consumer affairs report bureau.
