My husband purchased a new iPhone 16 pro max with the plan to trade in his iPhone 13 Pro for $1000 trade in. We went to the only store over an hour away from us to get a new phone with 512GB because we were going out of town and didn’t want to wait for one to be shipped days later. Because the data transfer was going to take some time, the person at the store told my husband to take both phones and then could bring the old phone back for trade in within 30 days. Well it’s been less than 2 weeks later and we went to trade in the phone and couldn’t do it at the store. Were told we had to do it online but because the Verizon store employee already “closed it out” the trade in is not being recognized as a trade in with a new purchase so now we will only get $110 for the phone. I was told there was nothing I could do, they wouldn’t put me in touch with the store we purchased it from (obviously I don’t want to just drive there if it’s an hour away), and said they could maybe submit a form but only after I sent the old phone to them and then they couldn’t guarantee anything. What a joke. Have been a customer for over 10 years. Thinking about returning the new phone all together and canceling service for a new provider that wants to take care of their loyal customers.
