You trade in your $1,000 phone, you get 36 promotional credits, if you decide you want to pay off your phone, you then ose the credits and Verizon keeps your phone.
scenario: trade in $800 phone
verizon offers 36 promotional credits on my new equipment but I decide two weeks later to pay of the new equipment.
I pay full price for new phone (lose all credits) AND Verizon KEEPS MY TRADE IN in essence paying me $0.
this doesnโt sound legal to me. It sounds like theft. I traded in about $4,000 on phones, I want to pay equipment off to lower bill.
surpise from Verizon! We got your phones and now youโll pay full price.

The last thing we want is for you to feel like we're being unfair with our promotion. All of our promotions state that the device agreement needs to remain active in order to receive the promotion unless the device was purchased at full retail price and the promotion is applicable to those purchases.
In your scenario, we would provide you with the market price of your traded in device if that amount has not been reached yet. For example, if you're set to receive a $10.00 credit per month for 36 months and trade in a phone with a market value of $50.00, we would provide you with a credit of $50.00 minus any credits already received.
