I traded in two iphone11s for two two iPhone 14s with a promise of $800 dollar credit each. They were shipped to me in one box with one return label. I returned them in the same box. Initially they told me they only received one phone but after five call in five different months they said each time yes we did receive both phones and credit would be given. Each time they assured me the issue was taken care off and each time it wasn’t.

I think you have to put each trade-in into a different box and ship them separately. With both the phones in one package and one tracking number, not sure if they can sort it out. Might be better if you are reimbursed for the "lost" phone.

Filed a report with the BBB and they resolved it promptly.

If they require the phones to be returned in separate boxes they should tell you up front and send you separate return boxes and labels.
