Beware of International cell service

Traveling in Mexico recently, I was informed that my Verizon plan included unlimited International calling and texting. Three days into my two week trip, Verizon discontinued my cell service until I could provide them with an actual photo of my personal Social Security card! I explained that I did not bring my Social Security card with me to Mexico but they refused to reinstate my plan. My wife and I spent the next ten days of our vacation in Mexico without Verizon mobile cell service. Traveling internationally, reliable cell service is critical for safety, security, and communication comfort. Beware of Verizonโs international calling even if itโs included in your plan. Verizon can discontinue mobile cell service at any time no matter where you are.

Verizon cancelled my prepaid cellular international calling and texting services while traveling in Mexico until I send them an actual photo of my personal private Social Security card! Unbelievable. I will be cancelling my Verizon account, after 15 years having never missed a monthly payment, just as soon as the current contract ends. Someone at Verizon should be fired for what they chose to do to us.
