I recently switched from the 5G Do More plan to Ultimate Unlimited 5G with upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, since the switch, I’ve only been getting 4G LTE instead of 5G. Last week, I also experienced a couple of days with no service at all. Could this be related to ongoing issues with Verizon’s network? I’d appreciate any insight into what might be causing this.

lahabracobra, I'm glad you were able to move to Unlimited Ultimate and get the iPhone 16 Pro Max there. Hopefully with doing that, you also got a nice trade-in deal as well 🙂 Sorry you've been seeing a bit of trouble with 5G there. First thing I'd want to check is where have you been seeing this issue? The city/state? That way we can check on a few things.
Also, I'd recommend checking your data settings with these instructions: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-309041/
Inside the Cellular Data Options, what do you have selected for 'Voice & Data?'

There was an outage September 30 which affected eSIM phones, but that was resolved by the next day. My guesses are either your account needs to be reprovisioned, or your phone needs a new eSIM. If you had 5G service before on the legacy Do More plan, you should have it now on Unlimited Ultimate, because you have top priority on the towers with Unlimited Ultimate. Unless...you've moved to a new location which doesn't have 5G?
Have you checked your network settings to see if your iPhone is set to "5G Auto" and not "LTE"?
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
