I have purchased a new Pixel 8 Pro cell phone for myself (call it A) and want to transfer my current Pixel 3XL phone (call it B) to a family member whose Samsung 8+ phone (call it C) is on its last legs. I assume I have to
(1) backup everything from both B and C using our family Google One account
(2) unregister both B and C from their Verizon phone numbers
(3) register B with the family member's phone number (from C)
(4) register A with my current phone number (from B)
(5) restore A and B from the backups in step 1
Questions:
(a) Is this the correct procedure?
(b) Can I do it myself, or must I involve live Verizon agents for at least part of it?
(c) If I can do it myself, where do I find the web pages to effect these changes?
(d) Can I achieve the results of steps 2 - 4 simply by moving the SIM card from B to A and from C to B?
(e) If I do move a SIM card to a different phone, do I have to involve a live Verizon agent?
