Verizon lowered my autopay discount

Others have indicated they received an email about this change.  I never received an email so was taken by surprise when my auto pay/paperless billing discount was cut in half on my latest bill.  I am beyond angry and upset.

Earlier this year Verizon increased the price of my current plan by $3 per line each month.  With 5 lines, that's $15 per month and $180 per year.  Now, they have reduced the autopay discount by $5 per line each month.  With 5 lines, that's $25 per month and $300 per year.  So, I am now paying $480 more each year which is unacceptable.

Verizon's solution is to change plans.  I can either change to the Unlimited Welcome plan that is not as good as my current plan or I can change to an even more expensive plan.  Neither is a good option.

I will no longer recommend them to anyone and will take my business elsewhere in the future.

I'd check your account contact info and update your email address.

The legacy plans which were affected by this pricing change all have perks included in them, while the current plans don't.  Many people coming in new are asked to sign up for MyPlan, where they not only have to buy a service plan, but must also buy perks at $10/month additional cost or more.  So you're essentially being asked to pay $5/month for your perks which used to be free.  While nobody enjoys having to pay more for something, I also can't think of anything which hasn't gotten more expensive as time goes on.

I understand that everything is getting more expensive which is why I understood the price increase to my plan a few months back.

That is not the same thing as what they are doing now.  They are reducing the discount for being paperless and using auto pay, but only for certain customers.  If they want everyone to be paperless and auto pay and are offering a discount to do so, then I don't agree with them suddenly changing that discount amount for certain customers.  This especially angers me because we just upgraded phones and they locked us in to service with them for 3 years and indicated our rate would have a $10 discount for being paperless and autopay.  Now they are changing their terms but I'm still locked in.
