I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan. I just arrived in Canada and learned that you can no longer add a monthly International plan without forfeiting the grandfathered plan. OK, fine, I'll pay a lot for my Canada phone use--it's only a few days. The trouble is, cellular service just does not work for me here. I have my data set to roaming, and the websiite shows me having the "pay as you go" option. What else is necessary? TIA

Making sure you can stay connected while traveling is something I would want as well, larzwar. Plan options aside, we definitely want to make sure you're still able to use your device. You can review the device settings needed for international usage here: https://www.verizon.com/plans/international/international-travel/trip-planner-tool/
This tool will have you input your device, and where you're traveling and provide you with all the information you need. Please let us know if this helps.
