iPhone 15 Pro Max never has signal!

This is incredibly aggravating. I am in city limits and can be under a tower and I will not have cell phone service or access to cellular internet. Ever since I upgraded to the 15 this has been nonstop problematic. I am about to drop verizon and iphone all together after being a life long customer.  I have gone to multiple verizon stores and there is never a correction but instead that "towers are down" when they are simply not and other family devices are working successfully that are not as new devices. 15 Max is the culprit to connect with Verizon and I want a resolve. I am paying for nothing.

So I called this 800-837-4966 number and got in contact with a verizon tech support. I was instructed to download Rescue+Mobile for a remote broadcast assist. I was super leery to this and unsure if this was legit too. I did some review and called another verizon number to verify the validity. I then allowed the remote assist and the tech performed an eSim deletion. I had wifi connected during this time and the call conducted on my work land line to allow the network to shut down during the deletion process. The process took about one minute to delete and reinstall networks. I now have three bars and 5G showing on my mobile and did some testing with internet applications to find how quickly I was able to connect. So far, so good. I will take your input to the e-Sim as the likely major issue and am in hopes this made for the long awaited resolve to a functioning iPhone 15!!

Hello, amylou03, we know it's important to have service you can rely on! You mentioned an issue with not having service or access to the Internet. What are you seeing as far as signal on your phone? Are you able to use calls and text okay? Are you running into an issue at a particular location or is this happening no matter where you go?

This seems to happen no matter where I go.  I currently have one bar and am in the middle of town where there should even be 5G or LTE full bar service region. I cannot access my applications on my phone due to cellular internet connection not being available along with much of the time going into SOS and unable to make calls or texts. I have calls dropped often with one bar LTE as my only cellular connection; which is weak and unreliable.

This sounds like either a problem with your eSIM or a provisioning issue which tech support is going to have to figure out.  The only other thing which comes to mind is if you had an Android phone before and you haven't configured your new iPhone with an Apple ID and whatever other setup Apple wants you to do on the iPhone.

P.S. - I've heard even Verizon iPhones can still band select.  Check that your network setting is on 5G Auto and not something else.  Also, if you used to live somewhere which didn't have 5G UW but now you're in a 5G UW service area and your service plan includes 5G UW, then your account definitely needs to be updated so your phone can use all the available spectrum.  Otherwise, it will be "confused" when it picks up 5G UW and won't be able to use it, causing horrible service issues.

You have been more helpful than any Verizon employee I have encountered to date. Thank you.

I have never had an android or other phone outside of an iPhone to rule out that inquiry. The eSim now perhaps is a good thought. I did set to 5G auto as suggested just now. It was on 5G ON. I havent moved locations so unsure if the 5G had been something that the area in itself just does not provide well.

Would it be worth doing a network reset you think?

Thanks for those details, amylou03. Do you recall what you were used to seeing as far as service prior to upgrading to the iPhone 15? I understand you recently changed your 5G settings on your phone. Has that made any difference so far? Would you mind verifying your zip code so we can take a closer look at the area?

You're welcome!  When you have your band set to 5G On, then your phone will only use 5G which could cause problems because if 4G is the only thing around, then you're in trouble.  5G Auto means it will use whatever the best signal is, either 4G or 5G.  If this still isn't helping with your signal strength issues, you could try a network reset, but I suspect something is going on with your eSIM.  Was it transferred from an older iPhone?  Might be better to get a completely new one.  I've heard of people's iPhone 15s simply not working at all (always in SOS) when they first got them, and a tech support person had to manually push through the activation because of some tech glitch to get the phone up and running, but with you having 1 bar of signal sometimes, it seems like your phone is activated, just isn't picking up the radio waves all that well for whatever reason.

If network reset doesn't fix it either, then it's definitely something for tech support to look into, as nobody else around you is having a problem.  Good luck.
