"UNLIMITED" Data while roaming internationally???

Although I have the Ultimate Unlimited Plan, which is supposed to provide 10GB of high-speed roaming while traveling internationally before throttling down to unlimited data at a slower speed, once I reached the limit on the high speed data, what was left was totally unusable.

How can Verizon advertise "unlimited" data while roaming, if what you are throttled down to after the first 10 GB of high speed data is so slow, that it cannot be used at all?

My speed was throttled down to 0.02 MBPS/second, which is slower than 30 year old first generation dial up speed. In fact, what I was left with was quite literally, 7500 times slower than normal speeds. The speed was so slow, that it was worthless. I could not connect to a webpage. I could not send or receive email and the speed was completely useless. Even Verizon IT support admitted the speed was unacceptable.

I came to the community support site to read other user's comments and they confirmed the same, that the remaining "unlimited" data cannot be used once you reach the limit on the high speed allotment, making Verizon claims of "unlimited" data completely false. If you cannot use the data because of the incredibly slow speed you are left with, it is by definition, limited.

Very disappointed to see this.

Verizon should change their advertisements and be more careful with the language they use.

It's unlimited data only when you're in the US.

I am on the "Ultimate Unlimited" plan, which provides unlimited calls to and from the specific country you select, which in my case is Greece, unlimited texts and unlimited data while overseas in your selected country.  The first 10 GB of data during that billing cycle is high speed, but then slows down to unlimited data at slower speeds while roaming in your selected country.

However, the speed I was throttled down to was 0.02 mbps/second, which even the IT people at Verizon acknowledged was unusable.

My point is that if the speed you are throttled down to after you reach the 10GB limit of high speed data is so slow that it doesn't work for even basic functions, it is hardly "unlimited".  In fact, if it is unusable, which was exactly my experience (and the same for many other readers), it is by definition, limited.

While I agree that 2G speeds stink and are unusable in today's apps after using up the 10 gig allotment, unfortunately it's in the fine print concerning your plan:

https://www.verizon.com/support/important-plan-information/

"After exceeding 10 GB/mo of high-speed international data, speeds reduced to up to 256 Kbps for the rest of your monthly billing cycle (available in 210+ countries and speeds depend on local network)."

If your phone is unlocked, you could try a local SIM card, which is likely cheaper than paying for an international plan with Verizon.
