switching to 5G start plan

Been a Verizon customer for close to 20 years. Called to see what plans are available with unlimited talk, data, and text.  The customer service representative gave me a price of $180.00 included tax and fees for the 5G start plan.  Then said there was a customer loyalty promotion of $40.00 and then said if I sign up for auto pay it would be an additional $30.00 credit.  I ask the representative if I called back later and wanted to switch to this plan will the $40.00 loyalty promotion still be available?  She said yes it would.  She said she would document our conversation so when I called back to switch the notes will be there. I called back to 10 minutes later to make sure the price was correct, and the representative confirmed the price.

I called back with in an hour to switch plans and this representative did not see the $40.00 promotion so she could not give it to me. Said I should check back in March and there may be another promotion.  I ask why the 2 other representatives saw the $40.00 loyalty promotion. Could not answer the question said it could have expired. I then said but it’s been only an hour since I was told it was there. The representative suggested I should post this on the Verizon blog and someone from Verizon may contact you.

Maybe time to shop around.
