How do I connect a router to the MBR 1515?

I know the MBR 1515 (Verizon 4G LTE modem/router) has a router built-in. I would like to disable the router part of it and connect an EdgeRouter Lite (Ubiquiti) to handle my DHCP and to provide better stats on my data usage; the MBR 1515 provides a mediocre (when it works) stats on data usage. I know I can disable the Use Router as DHCP Server in LAN > Advanced but then where do I connect my EdgeRouter (port) and how do I configure the MBR 1515 to hand off the DHCP duties to the EdgeRouter?

Thanks!

Configure the 1515:

Turn off Wi-Fi

Turn off Parental Controls

The manual shows conflicting information: it shows the default IP is 192.168.0.1, but under Reservation it shows the 192.168.1.X subnet. It cannot be both! Regardless of whether the subnet is 0.X or 1.X, you need to Reserve an IP address for the Ubiquiti. Make that IP address 192.168.Y.2 where Y defines the subnet 192.168.0.X or 192.168.1.X. Be sure to input the Ubiquiti’s MAC address for this reservation. Once you do this leave the DHCP Server alone so it can always assign the Ubiquiti the IP address of 192.168.Y.2.

Put the IP address 192.168.Y.2 in the DMZ so it bypasses the 1515’s firewall.

If you reset the 1515, you have to do all of this to setup the 1515.

Connect an Ethernet cable between a LAN port on the 1515 and the WAN port on Ubiquiti.
Besides power and antenna, no other cables should connect to the 1515.

Configure the Ubiquiti:

The LAN Subnet must be different from the 1515 – the Ubiquiti cannot establish a route to the internet if both the 1515 and Ubiquiti have the same subnet. If Y is 192.168.0.X on the 1515 then make the Ubiquiti LAN IP address something different like 192.168.2.1 (this will set the it’s subnet to 192.168.2.X).

If you change the subnet on the Ubiquiti it must be reconfigured if you reset the Ubiquiti.

The Ubiquiti will be your primary router, everything connects to it

To power up everything, turn on the 1515 and let it acquire the internet, then turn on the Ubiquiti and those devices connected to it.
