LTE Installed Xbox Nat

When I had the cantenna on it's own data plan, I had no issues with my xbox one having an open nat. Almost 3 weeks ago, it was changed over to the same plan as my phones and moved to the unlimited data plan. Now my xbox only has a moderate nat and I can't use the party feature. The lag is pretty bad too.

What changed? I've tried taking to 2 separate CSRs and they have no idea how to help me. They have escalated my ticket but I'm not holding my breath on getting a call back.

I've gone through and opened all necessary ports to play xbox and black ops 3. Both are still showing Moderate NAT.

I live in a somewhat rural area and use this as well. The real issue is that Verizon treats LTE Internet Installed Cantennae as a hotspot...even though it is bolted to the side of your home. This means that after 10Gig on the Unlimited plan you are switched over to 3G. The problem with this is that the cantennae is not backward compatible, and will not work with 3G, therefore your internet will not work! I asked Verizon why they would treat my home internet as a hotspot and render it inoperable after 10G, and unfortunately no one had an answer.

Cantenna is a nickname for Verizon Wireless Home Fusion LTE Internet (Installed). This service is sold with one of three data plans: 10 GB, 20 GB or 30 GB and data overages at $10/GB with a 50% cap. This service includes a public facing static IP address which is what allows Xbox to have Open NAT status.

LTE Internet (Installed) is not available with unlimited data. In order to obtain it you had to call Customer Service (800) 922-0204 and request it. Accordingly, Verizon Wireless honored that request by making your data only service plan part of your phone service plan. What changed? Phone service plans do not include a static IP address. As for the fix, VzW sells a static IP address but AFAIK you need a business account to obtain one and the cost is $500.

You are still connected to the LTE network and only your speed is reduced.

Ann154  The LTE Installed Internet system is NOT backward compatible and does not work on 3G. Trust me, I am experiencing it and this was confirmed by VW Tech Support.

Yep! That's what I was told.  I asked several different times before I switched if I would be throttled.  I was told no. Clearly a lie. Or a work around. Who can only use 10gb with home internet? Most people can'tuse under that on their phone alone. It worked before but now I'm having so many issues.

Now im left with the choice of either crappy speeds and a laggy Xbox connection or back to paying $120 a month for 30 gb and monitoring my every move on it so I don't go over.

Im extremely irritated and idk what to do.

Correct, it will not connect to the 3G EDVO network, but it will remain connected to the LTE network at a slower speed. It is called throttling and deprioritization. They slow you down. They don't kick you off the network.

Ann154    I'm not sure if you work for VW or not, and I'm sure that you're trying to help. I'm also wondering where your information may be coming from. I've verified thru numerous second level VW tech support calls that the LTE Internet Installed system will no longer be useable after 10GB. They admitted this to me!! I can verify this with 0 upload & download speeds each of the last 2 months after surpassing 10GB. Now you may think that remaining connected to the LTE network alone may be sufficient....if you really do, I invite you to come use my internet so I can watch you for an hour or so trying to load a webpage !

It's unfortunate, because it really isn't "unlimited done right" as they claim. I just went back to the 40GB plan.
