I have the same issue and Verizon support sent me a new NCQ1338.
It does the same thing. Will not update software to the 220745 version.
Official Verizon support rep comments here are frustrating as they clearly no nothing.
The rep I had on the phone today was aware of the issue but said there was no fix.
Also clearly misinformed. Too bad someone at verizon doesn't get to the bottom of this and fix it.
