Why Can't my Router Reach Domains?
KingSlamma
Member

I have several T1114 and any device I connect to it, over ethernet, cannot reach a domain, google.com, verizonwireless.com, etc. I can ping IP address but I can't ping and reach the domains.

Does anyone else have this problem?
What can I do to resolve it?

Thank you for your help.
I had the manual DNS set to our internal DNS and the Google DNS and it still didn't work.

What I ended up doing was setting the device's DNS to the Verizon routers gateway, 192.168.1.1 and Googles.

This ended up routing the DNS through the router and allowed me to reach domains and not just IPs.
So it turns out it wasn't a setting on the router as much as it was a setting on the devices connecting to the router.

thank you for both of your help.

Try adjusting your DNS to a custom DNS provider such as googles 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

This suggests your T1114s are connected to the internet through VZWs network, only the domain name lookups are not returning results.  DNS is suspect in this scenario.

If John's suggestions do not work, disable IPv6. Login to the User Interface, navigate to Settings > Advanced > LAN > IPv6: uncheck the box (disable IPv6) and Save changes.
