If I delete one of my gmail addresses will all the media associated with that email account remain backed up in my cloud or will it disappear?

Do you mean delete the account from the phone? The account will still be accessible from other devices (like your laptop). Unless you completely deactivate the account, the cloud content will remain. And I believe you will get warnings that the cloud content will be gone if you try and deactivate the gmail/google account.
Just deleting the account from your phone will not remove the cloud content.

Sorry for not being very clear, but yes I would like to deactivate the email totally. I have thousands of pics, as most people do, and do not want to lose them. That's why I was wondering if the Verizon cloud would still have them if I deactivated the email. Any suggestions?

Unless you also specifically backed them up to the Verizon cloud, they will go away when the google account is deactivated. (The two are separate cloud accounts). Why not download them (a couple hundred at a time, otherwise the process seems to hang) and store them on an external hard drive or DVD's?

Thanks for reaching out to us KaveMahn. We want to make sure that you understand your options. Our cloud option doesn't have to have the Gmail account. However, if you have an Android device, the account is used for purchases and downloads from the Playstore. You will also depend on it if you use Google backup services. This is what you will need to know about when removing the account.
