Can Verizon add Verizon Cloud and Tones support for the Moto G

I was very surprised when I got my Moto G4 that the Verizon Cloud and Tones apps are not supported on the device.  I had been relying on a smooth transition from my broken Moto X2 to the Moto G4 and found out that I cannot download my contacts or ring tones.  Verizon supports other unlocked Motorola phones like the Moto Z, can it please add support for the Moto G line of phones.  At this point I may return the Moto G4 to find something else, but it is very disappointing that Verizon does not support such a major phone.

The difference is that Verizon sells the Moto Z with it's postpaid plans which includes the features like VZW Cloud access and Ringback Tones and NFL Mobile etc. but the Moto G4 is not a device that is sold by Verizon and so is not going to have any of these apps, which is the norm for all non-VZW devices. Specific apps like these are only on official VZW devices though other devices might have the capability to run them....

I have a Verizon account, I have a Verizon cloud, it makes no sense that I can't access it from my smartphone. Microsoft and Google provide their cloud apps to smartphones, so should Verizon. Doing so actually encourages customers to stay with Verizon if their contacts and other cloud content is in Verizon hands and available when they have to replace a phone. Instead, not supporting other phones will upset their customers when they unknowingly get a phone that isn't supported. What is the downside of not supporting phones?

It again has nothing to do with whether you have a Verizon account or not. It has to do with the phones Verizon sells. If Verizon doesn't offer the phone, these features aren't included. Which makes perfect sense-- why would Verizon offer features on phones that they don't sell?

I realize you are asking for Verizon services to be compatible across all phones that all carriers sell, but that is the issue. It just wouldnt make business sense to work on development and making sure the Verizon products are compatible and working for devices that aren't even offered by Verizon.

Verizon makes Verizon Messages app available for the Moto G, so they do make some of their apps available. They also make Verizon Visual Voice Mail app available.

It seems to me that the phone service industry has moved more away from the phone sales business. More phones are unlocked. Phones are not discounted. I can see where you are coming from, but as a consumer, I disagree.

That's fine, you can disagree-- no problem. I am a consumer as well & just stating the reasoning why Verizon can't feasibly make all of their features/products available for everything out there, more specifically for the phones they don't sell or support.
