How Does Sync Work?

If I want to delete a contact, do I do it on my phone or on the Cloud? In other words, say I delete a contact from the cloud. When sync takes place, does the contact get deleted from the phone (because it got deleted from the cloud and sync "downloads" information), or does the contact in the phone get re-added to the cloud (because it's still on the phone and sync "uploads" information)?

Shandycat, I can understand the importance of being able to manage your contacts? We are here to help you. If you delete from the cloud and then sync, the contacts should also update on the phone.
