How do I delete messages in the cloud?

On my cell phone, my verizon cloud says I have 23,094 messages backed up. It will not let me delete them. When I click on messages, it says, "to see your messages, go to your phone's messaging application." When I go into my text messaging app, I have no messages because I deleted them from the app. My cloud storage space is at max capacity and I want to delete all the messages to free up space. How do I do that?

Does your cloud have a trash can that stores deleted data until you either manually delete it or it auto deletes after 30 days?
