This deletes messages or conversations from my phone. I have 11,000 text messages saved to the cloud that I want to delete - how do I do that?
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
HiSUEBUR50,
If you turn backing up messages to the cloud again in the Cloud's "What to backup" section under settings and then do a backup, it will delete all of the messages no longer on your phone. It won't get rid of all of them but you'll only have there. If you delete all of the messages off the phone and do a backup, then all of them will be removed from the cloud.
SUEBUR50, we’d be happy to assist you with your Verizon Cloud service. Verizon Cloud can sync messages that are saved to your device. It simply mirrors the messages you have on your phone at the moment. Once the messages are deleted from your phone, they’re deleted from Verizon Cloud as well. Check out question #5 under the “Using Verizon Cloud” section at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/verizon-cloud-faqs/?task=cloud#item1 for more information. May we ask if there was a particular reason that you wanted to delete messages from the cloud?

I received an email saying that the cloud mirrors my phone, but my current phone has 8 text messages. My cloud has over 11,000 from prior phones. How do I delete the 11,000? I don't need them, these are messages from years ago that were saved by accident because I had the "automatically save to the cloud" turned on in my settings (it is now turned off).
The Verizon Cloud is a great way to back up and save important content, SUEBUR50. We can go over removing content from the Cloud. If you no longer want messages backing up, we would recommend changing what is being backed up. You can also manage your content from the Verizon Cloud app here, http://spr.ly/6589DGWjz.

I have changed my setup so that messages are not saved to the cloud going
forward. I would like to delete the messages that are currently in the
cloud, that were saved there by mistake. They are not on my current phone -
they are from prior phones that are either lost/broken/no longer used. Can
you please provide me with the steps, one by one, to get into the cloud,
find those messages, and delete them? I have found my pictures, videos, and
documents, and have been able to manage those. I can not find how to get to
my text messages that are saved.

Also, the links that you send me in these emails do not work. For example,
when I click on this link, it says there's an error.

suebur50-
I apologize for the broken link. I definitely want to make sure that you are able to clear up some space in your Verizon Cloud in no time. Here are the steps for how to remove messages from the Verizon Cloud: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-94930/.

There is no findable "What to Back Up" section. Cloud is miserable at allowing user flexibility to delete and include what the customer wants.
It is great at asking you to add more paid memory. Embarassing I would hope.
