***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Is the message about my cloud closing soon legitimate?
JHEFL
Newbie

I received the following text message  "FREE VZW MESSAGE: Reminder, your Verizon Cloud Account will close on June 29 and all content will be lost.  To preserve memories go.vzw.com/activatecloud"

Is this a scam or do I really need to activate a new cloud account?

Thank ylou for your insights - Jennifer

That is a good question, JHEFL and I’m happy to help you today. We want to be sure you are clear on what steps to take to ensure your Verizon Cloud account is not closed.

The message that you have received is from Verizon Wireless and I have included more details here http://vz.to/2skx1e0 for you. We do recommend you Back up content, set up automatic back up reminders or upgrade to premium storage to avoid the account being closed. Please feel free to reach out to us with any other questions or concerns and we will be ready to help.

What kind of phone do you have? If on Apple, you are likely using the iCloud and not the VZW cloud and so this would be why your account is inactive and set to delete..... Just a thought...
