I've been trying to get my contacts to sync with the Cloud, and it only seems some of them have saved, and I can't see a pattern as to who was saved and who wasn't.

Any contacts saved as Google contacts and other email accounts contacts will not backup to the Verizon Cloud.

That's actually really stupid.
Google isn't Verizon and vice versa. If you want Verizon to back up your contacts, you need to export your Gmail contacts and import them into the phone or Verizon, as Verizon backs up phone contacts, not contacts from other competing accounts.
