I see other phones offered at a LOT less than I am paying for Verizon with keep your number and unlimited text message, etc.. My contract ends this month. I have downloaded valued pictures and have many hard copies. I will not be held hostage for $60 per year and more whenever Verizon decides to raise the price again.

We truly understand the importance of being able to save your memories and we certainly do not want to see you go over this. Allow us the opportunity to see what money saving opportunities we have to offset the cloud charge so that we can keep you in the family. I will be sending you a private note, please reply to that so that we can continue.

I gave my phone number as requested so I could get a call back. I did not. I am able to understand this cloud situation without explanation. Whatever was put into the cloud doesn't stay in the cloud. Surprise! To keep my stuff from being dumped out of the cloud, I must pay whatever Verizon decides. This amount may be raised from time to time by whatever Verizon wishes. I already pay $2 for extra cloud space. Another $5 would now be $84 per year. A couple years from now Verizon decides to charge $25 per month for cloud {$300 per year} or you dump the contents of the cloud. The contents of the cloud is held for ransom, I not only have to pay what is demanded but I can't even leave Verizon to use another provider.
I obviously had liked Verizon even though it is high priced but with my contract up in a few months I will be considering other options.

Why would anyone keep important files on a carrier's cloud? iCloud gives you 5GB free, Google Drive gives you 15GB free. Anything that's irreplaceable should be on a secure local backup. You should only trust a carrier cloud for contacts.

You are absolutely right, Tiger. I have nothing of importance in the cloud. I have downloaded what I liked and made hard copies of anything I really value. I don't know why they stuck documents in the cloud. I thought it would be nice to keep some pictures in there. They can dump whatever I have in the cloud.
