Unlimited Verizon Cloud storage was packaged with 5G home Internet, but the desktop app hasn't worked in months and web access fails almost as often. It's become a bait-and-switch offer. The desktop app won't even allow a sign-in , as the sign-in link is broken. The pop-up window to log in appears every few minutes but leads to nowhere when clicked.

The solution to this problem is crazy. You cannot sign into the Verizon Cloud desktop app on PC or Mac if you are connected to the 5g wireless home router. I connected to my wireless hotspot on my cell phone and was able to sign into the Verizon Cloud app on my laptop. I spent countless hours with Verizon level 2 tech support with no solution. They do not seem to be aware of this problem.

I know how important it is to have a place to back up your content, ajohnkim. It is indeed strange that you're having this much trouble with the desktop application. I'm not showing any known issues with the Desktop application right now. When did this behavior first start happening? What happens when you try to access Verizon Cloud via My Verizon online instead of the app?

Issue has now seems to be resolved. Not sure if the app is an updated version, but the UI looks slightly different and it seems I have to re-do the initial backup.

Issue has returned. Desktop app is not advancing past the sign-in pop-up window.

No error appears. The pop-up window disappears when the sign-in button is clicked. The same window reappears shortly thereafter.

I cannot believe that worked. The irony being that one of the selling points to the 5G home router is providing free unlimited cloud storage, which is not accessible through the router.
I've spent a ton of time with tech support, too. You just saved me from spending any more time with them. Thanks for the Xmas gift.

Exactly, I sign in on my laptop at work on different network, and it comes right up. At home it just doesn't boot up.. It states to "Log in" I click, and nothing happens (ONLY on my 5g network at home). This is awful and the tech support is S$%t.

Ok, this might have been my problem. When I received the 5G box, I plugged in my existing mesh router to it so I wouldn't have to update all my devices and maintain my coverage area. I had turned off the Verizon wifi and used the wifi from the mesh router exclusively. Turning the Verizon wifi on and connecting my laptop to it, though, seems to allow the desktop app to work, whereas using the wifi from the mesh router doesn't. So, for all my devices at home, I'm using my mesh router network, but solely for my laptop, I'm using the Verizon wifi network so I can access the cloud storage.

The Unlimited Verizon Cloud that came with the 5G Home service must first have its own My Verizon credentials to access as it has its own wireless phone number assigned to it. Then you may launch the free Desktop App and use those same Username/Password credentials to log in as the Share Plan owner and manage your members, as well as add your PC's content to the Cloud storage.
If your Router is blocking the access to the Verizon Cloud via Desktop Authentication, please use the Router's Admin Panel and check firewall settings, as well as your PC's own (ie: Windows Defender, AntiVirus Web Shield, Firewall, etc).
As of June 20 2024 you may also use your My Verizon (Web and App) access to manage your shareable Verizon Cloud plans.

To the Verizon Support Reps, it is abundantly clear what the problem is if you read through the thread. Why do you keep asking customers to describe their problems over and over again? JUST FIX IT.
