Where did my missing contacts go?

last night I did a software upgrade on my iPhone 5c.  This morning I went to use my phone and all my contacts are missing.  How do I get my contacts back for the cloud.

Oh dear, LADYCANNONER, never fear though, we’ll get this back. You’ll need to start by heading to Settings > iCloud. In here toggle the Contacts off then on again. You may be asked when turning off contacts, so choose Delete from My iPhone. These will come back once Contacts is toggled back on. Let us know how this works.
