give apps permission to use Verizon Cloud

I have verizon Messages on my android phone. However it can't sync contacts with the Verizon Cloud. I get the following error message when I open "Apps using Cloud": "You haven't given any apps permission to use your cloud." On my Android Marshmallow s7 edge, how do I give verizon messages permission to use the verizon cloud? Seems really poor that the two apps don't work together. Thanks.

jideay, thanks for clarifying further for me. Let's keep reviewing. Now your Verizon Messages will backup to your Verizon Cloud. However to manage your Verizon Messages, you can view the content of the back up by going to Verizon Messages: http://spr.ly/6586Bhrms The messages are being backed up here as well. They can backup to the Verizon Cloud: http://spr.ly/6581Bhrmx however, you won't be able to see the content of the messages here.

You shouldn't have to give the verizon message permission to use the cloud.  It's always used the cloud contacts for messages.  Have you tried the Verizon Messages forum?  That apps using the cloud seems to be for 3rd party apps to integrate to the cloud like IFTTT.
