Is the Ellipsis MHS800L Still a Viable Option as a Hotspot?

I am looking at purchasing a used Ellipsis MHS800L jetpack for a family member who does not currently have internet access at home.

I know that this model is a few years old at this point, and that it is no longer sold by Verizon, but I am wondering:

Would this still be a decent option for someone who's internet needs are not heavy?

For someone who uses a phone, tablet, and laptop at home?

Is the connection reliable enough to be used as the primary internet source at home?

Availability of hotspots seems extremely scarce right now and this is currently one of the only options I have to actually acquire and add to my Verizon account, so I would love to know if it's worth trying to get, even though it's an older model.

Although this item is no longer available for purchase, you can still connect up to eight Wi-Fi–enabled devices, such as tablets and laptops. View other hotspot devices here: https://www.verizon.com/internet-devices/.
