I found nothing for adp, but being Android maybe it's adb.

If Developer Options are unavailable, navigate:
Apps > Settings > About tablet then tap Build number seven times.
I believe you need to enable dev options before you can debug.

Yes, thanks for replying, but I did enable Developer
Options with the magic 7 taps. And then I went to App>Settings>Developer Options and set
the checkbox for USB Debugging. But when I attach the Ellipsis 8 it is
not recognized as a debugging device. The other devices I use, like my
Galaxy S6 phone, all require me to download usb adp drivers in order to make
this work. So I am still looking for somewhere to download the drivers.

Oops, you are right, I meant to say adb driver. And you do have the right link to the information about the adb driver.
In fact, on that site it says:
"Windows drivers for all other devices are provided by the respective hardware manufacturer, as listed in the OEM USB Drivers document."
But when I go to the list of OEM USB Drivers there is no link for the Ellipsis 8, or Verizon or Quanta or Speck.
That is why I have come here seeking a place to download the USB ADB driver for Android studio.
The Ellipsis 7 had the drivers on the tablet if you attached it as a cdrom device. I could not find that option on the Ellipsis 8.

Following this thread: Where to download Ellipsis 8 driver
I see that this has been an unresolved issue since Dec of 2014. Even Google searches only reveal drivers for the Ellipsis 7, but no word on the 8. This furthers my idea that, after all the various quirks and issues, that Ellipsis tablets are to be strayed away from. Have you had any luck on XDA?

Yes, I followed that thread also. And I googled all kinds of stuff, but all to no avail. This is a really ridiculous situation. Certainly the drivers exist but Verizon obviously doesn't care enough to provide them or even acknowledge the issue. Add me to the list of remorseful buyers. I agree with you, stay away from the Ellipsis 8 for sure.
