I got my ellipsis 7 July 22-yesterday it seemed to run out of battery time quickly. I plugged it in this afternoon and it charged to 100%, but the case was very hot and the charge ran out in 20 minutes. I'm afraid to plug it back in because it got so hot. The charger is the one which came with it. Any suggestions what is going on? Any reports of these tablets catching fire?

There is another thread about this here. The responsible thing to do is contact Verizon Wireless Customer Service at (800) 922-0204. Tell them about the excessive heat and the battery not holding a charge. If necessary repeatedly say, “I think this thing needs to be fixed. I’m uncomfortable using it. I’m scared it will burn my house down!”

Briep, We are very concerned that your Ellipsis tablet is overheating. This is very serious and we don't want you to feel uncomfortable using your device. In these situations, we advise that you take the tablet into a corporate store to have a representative confirm the abnormal heat and options can be discussed from there. Please keep us posted.

My 4 week old Ellipsis tablet started on fire when i powered it up the day after thanksgiving. It burned my hands and my hardwood floors. It took 13 phone calls and three trips to the store to get my tablet replaced. I spent several hours waiting on hold and re explaining my problem, everyone said they would replace my tablet right away,. I was promised several time I would get a called back. I never received any calls from Verizon. It took a week to replace my tablet and took up about 15 hours of my time. Customer service nightmare.. I would like Verizon to fix the burn mark on my floor. I tried to sand the burn marks out but was unsuccessful. Does anyone know who I speak to at Verizon to resolve this?
