How do I set up my tablet's messaging?

I am having difficulty seeing up my tablet's messaging. I have the phone number assigned to it, but cannot connect.

Text messaging via the Message+ app only works if you have a VZW smartphone that can be paired with the tablet to receive or send message.  Ellipsis 10 cannot originate or receive text messages.
