Using the pad as delivered does not use the WPA2 security setup. Is there any means to convert the pad to use that functionality?

If the connection to your landline internet connection is not a WPA2 security level, then the problem is originating in the router not the tablet. You need to change the security settings in your router for the tablet to see a WPA2 connection.
