I agree with the previous posters. In the merger from Alltel to Verizon, Verizon increases our prepaid basic texting rates 100%! From 10 cents a text to 20 cents a text.
Wow. For my teenagers trying to use texting to manage their cell phone use and cost, this is a knockout blow. Especially since it costs the carrier almost nothing to deliver a text message.
These charges make Verizon the most expensive out there for text messaging. We'll not be going with this plan. Lots of other companies to choose from.

But depending on where you live in the US ,they have one of the biggest covers area for cell phone service thus I Gus they can do just because of that ..
Have you looked in to a texting plan ? If you was paying 10 cents that be 1.00 for 10 text’s
